Beach Patrol Award
The Beach patrol award allows you to become land based “back up” for lifeguard patrols and can be used a as launch award to becoming a land based trainer. This award provides provide the learner with an introduction to all elements of lifeguarding theory, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid to level required by a beach lifeguard but has no elements water based training.
Course Units
Module 1. Beach lifeguarding – knowledge and understanding.
Module 2. Basic life support and first aid
Fitness requirements for examination
Swim 300m in a 25m pool (12 lengths) in 7.5 minutes or less.
Minimum age of candidate
16 years
Minimum Guided Learning Hours
40hrs plus an additional assessment day.
Award Duration
3 years
